Nominee 1: Master Kunkel’s Fight To Win Campaign
Successful multiple school owner and US Oympian Master Barb Kunkel (Academy of Life and Leadership Taekwondo) was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer during 2013. Since then she has released a number of updates and videos, giving an amazing example of how a martial artist can fight outside of the ring.
Nominee 2: Mike Duran’s Grappling Victory
Mike Duran (Metro State Taekwondo, Korean Academy of Taekwondo) had faced Master Bill in a “Special Tournament Challenge Match” and had lost four years in a row. His father passed away unexpectedly right before the Twin Dragons Tournament. Mike was able to gain strength from his father’s memory and finally defeat his instructor.
